Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain On The Left Side Of My Neck

The last 3 or 4 weeks I have had pain on my left side of my neck near where the doc checks lymph nodes or where ya can feel tonsils, which I still have. It is not a throbbing pain and is not all the time but seems to happen when I am at rest sitting up. Tried a Bengay type product and pain pills but nothing seems to rid me of discomfort.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You symptoms could be due to tonsillitis/tonsil enlargement, muscle spasm, lymph node enlargement. Following treatment will useful for tonsillitis and lymph node enlargement:

- Tablet antibiotic, tablet analgesic and anti inflammatory like Paracetamol and Diclofenac, do gargling with betadine

For muscle spasm:
- Tablet Etoricoxib + Thiocolchicoside, two times a day after meal
- Tablet Ranitidine twice daily before meal
- Application of Diclofenac (Volini) gel twice daily
- Warm pad application

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
