Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I cough frequently (and often)....a productive cough. I ve seen Asthma & Allergy, ENT, Immunologist, Endocrine Specialist, General Practitioner, Respiration Specialist and have been unable to reach a conclusion on cause and treatment of the cough. I am taking steroidal inhaler, two nasal sprays, and two separate allergy medications. Only allergy from skin tests indicates hay fever and very minor reaction to wheat. Had sinus surgery and hiatal hernia repair. Some acid reflux has also been diagnosed. HELP.....I can t get rid of the constant cough?
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about your lengthy ordeal. Please note that if you have Acid Reflux, this has to be treated completely, you have to be on a Proton Pump Inhibitor and not over the counter stuff, omeprazole is good, the reason is that Acid Reflux really exacerbates asthma. The cough will persist despite asthma treatment. So I would ask that the Acid Reflux be treated completely while you look for other reasons. I hope that this helps you out, good luck and thank you for your question.
