I have a solid pink almost red rash that started mid February. it is on buttocks. it is symmetrical & covered about half of my buttocks from butt cleavage out. it looked a smooth sunburn. it has gotten better but not cleared completely. the pink/red area has greatly decreased in size & severity. I still have reddened areas in butt cleavage. I have had areas that burned for a week at a time. Then it would itch severely for a week at a time. i have seen gynecologist 2 visits & then dermatologist 4 times. I have been on at least 6 prescription meds, some oral & some topical. i first tried A & D cream which was old & it had separated. it made it worse. then saw Dr who gave me fluconazole 150 mg taken 3 days apart. i took 12 days (4 pills) of those. it helped within a few hours. dmaybe improved 50%. then hydrocortisone iodoquinol cream BID for 3 weeks. Then Nystatin triamcinolone cream BID for 3 weeks. Then Trianex 0.05% for 3 weeks. Then neo-synalar for 3 weeks. Then Halog for 1 weeks. All have helped except the Neo-synalar. Dermatologist did biopsy of very raw red area in butt cleavage as well as culture. I got note in snail mail today saying early stages of decubitus; keep pressure off & continue Halog. I walk 2 to 3 miles per day minimum. I shop, cook, sing in choir, etc. I spend a few hours in bed in afternoon. This is not on pressure points. I have spoken to 2 dear friends who have decades of wound & skin care in their careers of nursing & physician assistant. They say decub is not in ur skin folds & I do not stay in bed enough for that to be the case. i do have hemorhoids. I have had minor skin irritations in butt cleavage but A & D cream always healed this up. This rash began as pink/red & round as a slice of red watermelon. I live in Birmingham, Alabama. I did travel to Scotland last year in August. I have a husband & a dog who have no skin problems. Thank u so much. Joyce
