Suggest Treatment For Persistent Sore Throat While Having Strep Throat

My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat late yesterday and started antibiotics last night before bed. The doctor told me today that she should be fine within 24 hours of taking the amoxicillin. She still has a very sore throat and is very tired, should I be sending her back to school tomorrow?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain strep throat is a bacterial infection of throat and amoxicillin is an appropriate medication given to her to fight bacterial infection but along with it she should also take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Doing warm saline gargles and steam inhalations will further soothe the throat..
Sucking throat lozenges can further help..
Chew vitamin C pellets as it helps in boasting immunity..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
