General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Apart from taking medications what your doctor has prescribed, you need to take the following supportive measures.
1. Take steam inhalation twice daily.
2. Do salt water gargling with warm water thrice daily.
3. Chew medicated lozanges when you feel soreness in throat.
4. Avoid intake of cold items like ice-cream and cool drinks.

Gradually, you should be able to overcome the symptoms and get better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
