Suggest Treatment For Persistent Sticky Phlegm Producing Cough

My father is a healthy 94 year old male who has started coughing continuously over the last 11 days, some clear sticky phlegm comes but not in excessive amounts. He has no fever. Two months ago the doctor that visited him gave him a prescription of 28 penicillin capsules, which he took over a 7 day period, within 1 week his coughing stopped. At the time he did not have any fever, nor have any other illness. does not. Except, the same type of cough has returned. Please give me some helpful advise. Understanding your concern. As per your query your father has symptoms of persistent sticky phlegm producing cough seems to be due to chronic lung infection or bronchitis. Impaired immunity of body is major contributing factor for their condition.

Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests and x-ray chest as well to check exact level of infection. Start treatment only after proper prescription. Avoid giving outside food and cold beverages. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will boost immunity. You need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. You should use mist humidifiers in room. You should take cough expectorants as well.
