Suggest Treatment For Persistent Swelling In The Right Cheek

I have a swollen right cheek for 2 years or so. I had a sinus ct scan with no abnormalities, allergy test with nothing unusual, dermatologist visits with every ointment that came out, used antibiotics for years. Any suggestions as to who to see now, should i go to an infectious disease doctor. No redness or pain or any kind of discharge.

Hello,

I can understand your concern persistent swelling in the right cheek. I can get from your history that you have visited various doctors for you persistent swelling in the right cheek.

In your kind of cases there can be multiple possibilities of the swelling and most commonly it is due to sebaceous cyst or related structure.

In your kind of cases I generally analyze the cheek skin by a dermascope and see for the possibility of the sebaceous cyst.

I suggest you to meet either a surgeon or ENT specialist and go for a Ultrasonography and then a procedure known as “FNAC- Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology”. It is technique by which one can now the exact nature of swelling as well as proper treatment can be planned for the same.

All the best.
