Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've been having tooth pain at the same time daily for the past week now. The pain starts around 1-3 pm but nothing before. I have been taking Advil for the pain. The pain started ever since I began flossing and brushing my teeth twice everyday (I used to brush once and not floss). Could the pain be because of that or because of something more serious?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent tooth pain which seems to be due to inflammation and injury to gums while flossing and it as tooth has a nerve and blood vessels that enter into it through the tips of its roots and it could be possible there is presence of infection at root tips levels as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. Maintain complete hygiene and avoid sticky substances. Visit oral physician once and get it examined completely and go for oral prophylaxis as well. Go for complete scaling and root cleaning if required. If it is concerned with single tooth go for treatment accordingly. Use antiseptic mouthwash on daily basis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
