Suggest Treatment For Phlegmy Cough With Grey/brown Stuff?
Hi. I ve been smoking weed multiple times (3 bowls+ daily) for 4 years and I have cut down to one bowl a day a week ago. I ve started having a phlegmy cough with grey/brown stuff in the phlegm. My dad has been a smoker all his life so I am used to seeing this, and it didn t scare me too much. I m wondering if its my lungs beginning to heal and renew themselves and expel the tar from them, or if its a serious lung problem I should go to my doctor about.
Chronic smoking (Nicotine and weed) lead to deposition of black carbon particles in lung. It also lead to damage to lungs and cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) which makes lungs more prone to infections.
COPD may present with chronic productive (with phlegm) cough with grey/brown secretions due to infection. For treatment get evaluated by Pulmonologist/Physician for treatment of COPD and psychiatrist for deaddiction.
