Suggest Treatment For Pimple In The Groin Area

I am 20 . Yesterday I noticed a kind of pimple on the left of my groin area which was painful when pressed just like any other pimple . But today morning when I woke up , I noticed a swelling in that area ... (It s still paining) , as I touch it and press it a bit , I feel a little stone kind of thing inside . Please help I am very worried . I preferably wear thongs and tights as I am gym freak , could that be a reason ? Also I am undergoing a laser treatment in that area and the doctors specifically warned us about not pulling out any hair strand , so I was wondering maybe the tight panty might have pulled the hair causing this swelling ? Help ?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A swelling in groin which feels hard like stone could be a lymph node enlargement.
Lymph nodes in groin enlarge and get inflamed in cases of urinary tract infection or infection of lower limb.
Wearing tight pants is unlikely to cause lymph node enlargement.
Laser treatment is also unlikely to cause inflammation of lymph nodes.
However, folliculitis or infection and inflammation of hair follicles in pubic region could be one of the causes of enlarged and inflamed lymph nodes.
A clinical assessment and investigations need to be done to know the eaxct cause of lymph node enlargement.
Fine needle aspiration cytology is first line investigation wherein cells are aspirated from swelling using a fine needle.
The aspirated cells are spread on a slide and stained with appropriate stains.
The study of the cells determine the origin and nature of swelling.
