General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
Pityriaasis rosea is a skin condition that resolves by itself within 6-8 weeks.
Antifungal agents/ antiviral drugs/ anti allergic drugs/cortisone given orally, can help / reduce the symptoms- but these are to be taken strictly with a doctor's consultation.
The home care includes- Keeping the skin cool, have cool water bath ( avoid shower bath), let the room be cool./ Application of calamine lotion / oat meal bath/cortisone containing ointments help.
Thanks.
