General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If the oral antibiotics are not working for him, if there is no improvement at all, then he may need iv antibiotics.

He may need to be admitted to the hospital for a few days for iv meds and additional treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
