hi..i need to enquire about my brother who is 8 years old..he carries in power in both his eyes..one eye power is -8 and another -9...so wat are the chances of improvement and if these can decrease in future..we are worried because he is just at the age of 8

I reviewed your history.
These symptoms indicate refractive error in the form of myopia. It is pathological myopia as the refractive power is increasing and it is more than 6 dioptres. It is usually because of increase in the axial length of the eye ball. Most of them are genetical in nature.
Usually it will stabilize BT 18-21 years. After this he can undergo corrective surgery.
