Suggest Treatment For Poor Heart Function.

My mother was having breathlessness. she went to consult doctor.At that time doctor observed,pulse rate coming down to 45bpm.Then we have taken to hospital where facility available.Initially she was admitted in triage,and after a day she is in ICU .Doctor has conducted various test like complete blood test,ECG,CT,ECHO.Finally doctor says heart function only 25% and left ventricle is very weak.Doctor says that medicine and supporting oxygen system only keeping her stable. i don t know what to do?..I want to know whether any medication is there to keep her stable,at home?

I can very well understand your concern for your mother . The Echo report says Ejection fraction 25%. Normally it stays around 65-70%. Probably she had gone into heart failure , that's the probable cause of the breathlessness and slow pulse rate. It may be due to a number of causes like high blood pressure , lung causes ,heart valve defect and many more. Your doctor will be able to enlighten you on the exact cause. But do not lose hope. By medications like Frusemide , Digoxin , Oxygen and definitely eliminating the root cause she will be better. For any other query feel free to ask.
