Suggest Treatment For Post Nasal Drip In A Child

I believe my four year old has swallowed too mucus in his sleep and has post nasal drip. Now he is throwing up. My husband wants to give him a coke to get rid of the mucus and phlem in his stomach. Will this help? I don t want to give him soda but he has been vomiting all morning.
