I am a 32 years woman who had a healthy baby girl 22 months ago. My pregnancy was healthy and only at the 42nd week, my BP raised a bit so my doctor advised me that I immediately deliver the baby and I did with C-section. When I woke up from aneasthesia I had a severe headache and I was told it was my high BP. Now after 1 year and 10 months I, I got a very severe headache and went to a medical doctor for a check up. I had a high BP - 150/120 and the doctor asked if I had high BP before. I said no, and before he prescribed any medicine he ordered many check ups. As a result my cholestrol is good, my renal function, and all the other organs are well. Only the ECG result showed that my left heart was muscled and the doctor told me this is normal for people with high BP. My pregnancy test showed 'weakly positive'. The doctor said this is because it was very early (only a week passed the time I should have seen my period). I didn't feel right to take the medicine (though was told it was mild for pregnants). Since that day (last week) I am following my BP everyday but it is between 140/100 to 130/85. Doctor what do you suggest I do? I read about preclemptia and the danger to the baby and myself if the BP persists to be high.
dear patient , as your BP is touching 100 mmHg sometimes , you must start an antihypertensive as soon as possible (tab . nifedipine) and periodic BP and urinary protein monitoring.
