Suggest Treatment For Pressure In Ear And Humming Noise
i was told that i had had a viral infection in my left ear that has severly reduced my hearing in that ear. the ear feels like it is pressurized inside and is making a loud humming noise. i had an mri and an xray and nothing was found. the doctor called it labyrinthitis. the symptoms started july of 2013 and lasted thru september. the symptoms dissapeared over the month of october to were they were very mild. in march of 2014 the symptoms have returned and my doctor says there is nothing that can be done. i was wondering if there was a drug, maybe an antihistamine that might relieve the feeling of pressure and so reduce the roaring noise. thank you for listening
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood our history. It looks that you need a thorough clinical evaluation and clinical examination to come to a clinical diagnosis. The MRI and other investigations just help to get a diagnosis. Your history is suggestive of middle and ear infection or can be an added Eustachian tube dysfunction and an Audiometry also helps in diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is done, it will become easy to get to the treatment part and it is possible a proper medical management can help us .
