Suggest Treatment For Profuse Sweating

My husband is 64 yrs old on no meds ..he just had 20 min of profuse sweating... His hair is wet . He was in air conditioning .. He s laying down and feels ok. BP IS 112/62 pulse 64. He normally has a little higher BP. Is this a sign of something serious?

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

I want to know more about your husband -
- His age.
- Any associated conditions like diabetes, heart disease, Blood pressure or cholesterol problem.
It might be symptom of heart attack in diabetic patient as due to diabetic neuropathy there might be no chest pain.
- Is he on any medicines.
- Any addictions.
-Associated symptoms like chest pain, breathing difficulties.
- Any stress.
- Fasting status, any dehydration.

Profused sweating and relative fall on blood pressure without increase in heart rate requires immediate evaluation.

Your husband requires detailed clinical examination including blood pressure response to change in position (postural hypotension) and neurological examination.

Along with clinical examination there is need for -
- Blood sugar level testing.
- ECG.
- Cardiac enzymes like Trop I /T, CPK-MB.

Depending upon clinical evaluation and above test results there may be need for further evaluation.
