Suggest Treatment For Prolonged Cough With X Ray Showing Clear Lungs

I have an ongoing cough since the beginning of December. My doctor first treated it as an upper respertory infections and had me take anti biotics. That did not help. I have had a chest xray which they tell me my lungs are fine. They are now treating it as a alergy and have tried a couple of alergy meds. To this point it has no effect. Five months is a long time to have a continuous cough.

Hi,

Prolonged cough with no confirmatory X-ray radiograph diagnosis can be due to many other conditions like allergic Asthma, Allergic rhinitis, GERD etc. Detailed investigations and blood work is required for confirmatory diagnosis. Kindly consult a specialist preferably that of pulmonary or respiratory medicine for proper intervention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
