Suggest Treatment For Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding
Have a regular period for the past 8yrs.it comes every 23 days for a 5 day cycle.started pill(microgynonED wit iron) and have been bleeding now for 2 weeks now.im 29 yrs.i stopped the pill 5 days ago but still bleeding like a regular period.what to do now?
As per my clinical experience, a minor number of women do present with heavy menses flow as a side effect of the oral contraceptive pills to control the birth. Guidelines at present: - Stop further doses of pill - Get prescription of trenaxamic acid (500 mg) to be used for acute bleeding episode - Low dose progesterone pills may also be help to regularise the system
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
