Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My last 3 periods (if you can call them that) have been super weird. They re lasting about two weeks, but it s just random. One day it s a gush of red blood and that s it for the whole day, some of the time it s just watery pink gushes occasionally, and some days and a lot of brown discharge. Sometimes it s just one of these all day, and sometimes it s all three. Can you please help me understand what s happening to my body? I m in absolutely no pain, and I have not had sexual intercourse although I have done some other things. Thank you in advance!
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Profuse bleeding without any other complaint can be due to hormonal imbalance (menopausal, thyroid or ovarian problems, fibroiduterus, cervical polyps or malignancy in few cases. For controlling bleeding cap Hemsyl-Cvp can be taken till bleeding is controlled. You should consult a gynecologist once bleeding is controlled OR there is no relief OR bleeding increases. It is important to know basic cause & start needful specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
