Suggest Treatment For Prolonged Sore Throat With Redness

iv had a sore throat for over a week now , I went to a walk in clinic last sunday . was treated for strep throat although no test were done to make sure. they put me on 5 days of 500 mlg azithromicyn { I know this is spelled wrong sorry }. im still suffering with a sore throat. no white spots but its still very red . no fever in 3 days. I feel extremely tired. my question is, shouldn t I be feeling a lot better by now? Or will this med. make me feel blah for a while?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The sore throat should have improved even if the systemic symptoms such as fatigue are still present.

If the sore throat is still present it is possible that the bacterial causing the infection is resistant to the antibiotic used and you may need retreating.

You may need to consider visiting your doctor for a review.

I hope this helps
