Suggest Treatment For Protruding Spot On Head Post Injury

My son hit his head today when accidentally pushed against a wall. He now has a large (about 2 quarters size) soft spot on his head. It is protruding... not inverting but it is soft not like a hard goose egg. He shows no other symptoms (no loss of consciousness, continued to play, no vomiting, sight is normal, etc...)
Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that he might be having formation of hematoma on the site after injury.
Observe him for 24 hours of developing any signs of concussion, unconsciousness or other CNS signs.
If he is fine nothing to worry.
Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day for few days.
Ok and take care.
