Suggest Treatment For Purplish Marks On The Inner Thighs
Hi, purplish marks have appeared on my inner thighs. They have been here for almost two months, and show no signs of going away/fading. They are slightly indented, but they aren t cut marks or scratchs. Recently, I ve gained around 5-8 lbs, but it s all muscle, and it hasn t just been in the thigh region. Any idea to why these marks have appeared, how to get rid of them, and what they are? Thanks x
Hello and welcome to HCM, Purple marks on thighs can be due to bruises. Do you have any history of trauma to the thighs in recent past? Trauma is the most common cause of bruising. Besides trauma, coagulation disorders can also lead to purple discoloration. Thus, I suggest you to consult a physician and get some investigations done which includes complete hemogram, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, All the above mentioned tests will determine whether any coagulation disorder is present or not. Further management can be planned after clinical assessment and investigations.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
