Suggest Treatment For Raised Lump On Hand Post Injury
I was getting the shopping from the car boot, and the boot fell closed on my left forearm. Immediate pain.. I can move my fingers, and support myself on that arm, though ot is a little sore after i stop putting pressure on it. To touch it, is about 3-4 /10 ( i have a high pain thresshold) i have a raised lump 10cm in diameter, sore to touch. Could i have a hairline fracture? Or just tissue damage
As per my clinical experience, the raised bump on hand post injury indicates most likely hematoma formation. There is blood collection from the oozing via damage to subcutaneous blood vessel most likely. Guidelines at present: - Local application of ice - Keep the arm elevated with arm sling support - Avoid weight bearing through affected hand - Get prescription of: @ Antibiotics such as Cephalexin or others (to prevent secondary bacterial infection) @ Anti-inflammatory such as Bedanzen Forte or Dilgesic Plus for better and early resolution of hematoma
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
