Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since you are having past history of
tuberculosis and having recurrent haemoptysis (blood in sputum ), following possibilities must be rule out first.
1. Recurrence of tuberculosis.
2. Bronchiectasis
3. Scar bleeding due to excessive coughing.
4. Scar carcinoma rarely.
So better to
consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Fresh chest x ray
2.
Sputum culture for AFB and sensitivity to rule out MDR ( multi drug resistant) tuberculosis.
3. CT thorax to rule out bronchiectasis and carcinoma.
Treatment of each of the above are different. So we need to first diagnose the cause and then should start appropriate treatment.
At present , to stop haemoptysis, start
codeine containing cough suppressant and
tranexamic acid tablets.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
