Hello, Vagotomy of a normal person would result in an increase in HR from about 70 to about 100, the intrinsic rate of the heart. If a person were a regular exerciser, and had a resting HR of 40, would vagotomy cause the HR to go to 70 (same + 30 change), or to 100 (same intrinsic rate). In other words, is the adaptation to exercise in the heart intrinsic rate, in the parasym input, or both? Thanks

welcome. normal heart rate is 60 to 90 . after exercise it may go up to 110. being a regular exerciser your heart rate is normal. if you have any problem or it disturbs you ,get E C G , consult doctor, yours is normal. take variety of fresh fruits. avoid smoking,alcohol,cola,coffee,junk foods. take care.
