Suggest Treatment For Rash On Eyelid, forehead And Ears
Dear sir!
Urgent answers needed. A week ago, i started getting a rash around my eye lid, forehead and ears. Now it's spread over my whole face. The rash isn't red but more light pink and the skin is dry, flaky and itchy. I also have it on the inside of my thigh but thats looks more like a ringworm type of rash. I have tried hydrocortisone and emolient cream but it just eases the itch and moisterises and doesn't clear it up! I have a feeling i picked up some kind of fungal infection at the swimming pool where i used to work. I don't have any skin conditions and am perfectly healthy apart from this! I am seeing a doctor in two days but i would like an opinion. Can anyone help??
It could be possibly a fungal infection as well,of the face. Since the signs and symptoms like redness, itching and scaling are suggestive.
I would have surely liked to confirm it on physical examination or after having a look at the picture. If I was the treating doctor I would have advised you to use a topical antifungal like clotrimazole cream, twice daily, regularly for 4 weeks.
An Oral antifungal e.g fluconazole is also advisable, once weekly for 4 weeks.
An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would help you in symptomatic itch relief.
regards
