Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a rash on my right leg. I got medicine from doctor and have been applying it twice a day for 10 days. It was looking better but then flares up again Some itching. Today I found a spot on the other leg. Lookes like it is spreading. Also a right inside arm I have what looks like ringworm. The other does not look like ringworm.
It seems that you have a fungal infection (called Tinea) but only topical application of steroids won't suffice. Oral anti-fungals like turbinafine would be needed, at least for two weeks.
Also, you will benefited by oral antihistamines like Levocetrizine and Monteleukast which will control itching. Local application of coconut oil helps too in itching by restoring the moisture.
Don't use soap as it has acid which increases the dryness ,thus causing further itching. Kindly upload images of both the rashes so I can get better idea as you have already tried some cream for 10 days.
Along with that please let me know do you have fever, pain, coryzal symptoms or history of injury. Kindly follow up with details and image.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh,
General & Family Physician
