Suggest Treatment For Rashes And Red Hives After Taking Augmentin

hi had augementin amxycilin rash . red hives , after taking augementin 2-1/2 days ... went to doc and he change me with different non penicilin... but iam still havin rash ... some time go and sometime rash comes back different place.. also had eay lids swollen an lips .... no toung swollen or chest breathing problem. do i need to stop all the antibiotic... i gettin because havin phlegm chest

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from allergic reaction or anaphylactic reaction to amoxicillin that is antibiotic present in augmentin and the symptoms of rashes and swollen eyelids and lips are all due to it..
In case if the symptoms have not resolved after the antibiotics is changes there is a possibility that you are allergic to even the latest antibiotic given to you while it is also possible that the symptoms are due to augmentin as it can take some time for the complete weaning off the effect of the antibiotic from the body..
I would suggest you to take anti allergics like levocetrizine and also apply cool compresses over rashes and lips..
You can also apply calamine lotion to sooth the skin over rashes..
In case if it still does not resolve consult your physician and get evaluated and he can do allergic tests to check for antibiotic sensitivity and prescribe you appropriate antibiotics that are compatible with your body..
