Suggest Treatment For Rashes In Feet

I HAVE HAD A RASH ON MY FEET FOR A MONTH. IT BEGAN ON ONE AS A CIRCLE OF RED SORES, PUS FILLED, THEN RED HEELS, TOES ETC. FIRST DR. Said a fungal infection, gave me Doxycycline for 10 days, a steroid ream also. After a week it was worse, a Dermatologist said, no it wasn t that but Contact Dermatitis, continue cream, still no better a week later, said discontinue cream as side effects cause thinning of the skin . It is a month and I am not much better, sometimes toes now on both feet beet red, no itch but sting or are sore, heels are red & sore at times, the original sight is cracked, red and scarred. Don t know what to do????

Hi,
Thanks for contacting HCM. For true fungal infections, anti-fungal pills or cream would be the remedy. There are some times where a fungal infection will break down the skin and let bacteria enter and there could be both infections present. If it is only a fungal infection, steroid cream may worsen the issue. I will write my patients for an antifungal pill and get them started on antifungal cream at the same time when it's to the point of cracking and sore.
I hope this helped answer your question. If you have any further questions, I am here to help.
