Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Ankles Of A Child

Hello, Does this look like a bite on my 4 year old s ankle? It has healed now, but at the time she complained it hurt. I m most concerned about ruling out a bat bite. She has had no known contact with any bat. but I worry perhaps one came in at night and escaped without notice. The measurement is in cm. Thank you.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Small skin rash could be caused by many things some of which are local skin infection by a bacterium or a fungus or just local irritation.A bat bite might be less likely as their teeth are too small and may leave marks that are not easily seen.Depending on the size of the rash, a possible bat bite can be eliminated.Bat bite however is an emergency since they are capable of transmitting serious medical conditions including rabies.I will suggest you discuss with your Doctor to see the need for a post bite immunization against rabies if he finds marks on the ankle in favour of a bite.
Hope my answer will hep you.
Best regards
