Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Neck In A Child
My 4 year old has a rash on her neck, I called her pediatrician, they said eczema and to use hydrocortisone. I been using it and the rash is half it s size. I worried cause it s very red and she complains it hurts, especially during a bath. I m afraid it may not be what doctors say it is.
Hi. As per your case history your child is having atopic eczema, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine once daily for 10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
