General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It sounds more likely to be urinary tract infection, especially with your reported urinary urgency, urine odour, and burning pain, although it may be other causes such as non-infectious cause including interstitial bladder infection.

To differentiate the condition, you will need to have urine testing at a local clinic. Azo is only temporarily reducing the pain, masking symptoms, so it is not recommended to take more than 2 days.

It is for the temporary pain relief while you are taking antibiotic treatment for UTI.

You may want to follow up with local urgent care or any walk-in clinic so they can check your urine to make sure current symptoms are truly coming from UTI, then get appropriate treatment if indicated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Katie Lee, General & Family Physician
