Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Dry Cough And Fatigue

I have been getting an on and off dry cough (sometimes with mucus) for more than a year. I have been fatigued, week and sleepy than usual. I’ve gone to my doctor and it’s never anything. I’ve also experienced body pains such as shoulder, arm and chess pains. Lately I feel like I’m getting worst and have more symptoms. I’ve been experiencing a lot of headaches and heartburns and breathing issues and trouble swallowing. Last night at midnight I couldn’t breath in the middle of my sleep, thinking it was a panic attack I was trying to go back to sleep, but it happened again only this time I’m coughing like I’m chocking, ran to the bathroom and I was spitting out blood! Pure blood with little tiny chunks of blood? What do u think is going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hello, my name is Dr Olgeta Xhufka. I understand your concern. There is something serious about this. You have a year with cough and you had hemophtysia lately. It may be bronchitis, lung cancer or non malignant lung tumors, congestive heart failure, tuberculosis. , inflamatory or autoimune conditions. You have to do some examinations such as x-ray or ct scan or bronchoscopy to determine the couse. Also do a total blood count.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
