Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Dryness Inside The Mouth
I have a second bout of dry mouth. First time I visited the Doctor and was tested for HIV - they thought it was Thrush. Took medicine for Thrush with mild improvement. Biotene mouthwash seemed to help more. Now I have it again, with swollen tonsils and a couple red sores on inside of cheeks. ?? I'm on blood thinners and Cholesterol medicine. Had a heart attack in May '17.
Dry mouth can occur due to a number of causes and as you are on a number of medications, it can be a side effect of the medications..
Other common causes can be severe dehydration, salivary gland dysfunction, nerve damage supplying salivary glands, oral infections like thrush, sjogren's Syndrome..etc.. You should also check for blood sugar levels as high blood sugar levels can also cause dry mouth..
-For dry mouth chew sugarfree chewing gums.. -Drink plenty of water. -Avoid regular mouthwash and use specialized mouthwash that are formulated for dry mouth patients like Biotene.. -You can also instil artificial saliva drops.. -Suck tart candies as it also stimulates saliva flow..
If does not improve consult yourl Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
