I am on a blood thinner and get frequent large bruises on my legs. I had a big one this week that got very painful, swollen and hot. I went to the ER since I have a history of Dvt twice. After a ct of the chest and an us of the leg, they Diagnosed it as cellulitis. Gave me oral antibiotics and said if it wasn t better in 3 days I most likely would need to be admitted for IV Vanco. Since we have been in Hurricane Matthew, my follow up was cancelled. The leg is better, but is still red, swollen, and burns.i don t have a fever, but do feel run down. Should I be worried about hospitzation? Also....I do not see any break in the skin,it was just a normal type bruise I always seem to get. I m a nurse :)
