Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Patch Inside The Cheeks
Hi I have back patch's inside my cheeks....it's been 2 week... I visited to hospital and check up done by general physician.....he gave me medicine cobadex forte and clohex mouthwash....plz advice me on this And I was smoker from past 8 year....after black patch's I stopped smoking.....
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain black patches on cheek mucosa can be due to hyperpigmentation that can be due to SMOKER'S MELANOSIS as you already has a long smoking history.. Smoker's Melanosis is not due any fatal condition and get resolved once you stop smoking.. There is no treatment needed in this condition and only cessation of smoking is the treatment of choice.. But it can take from about 3 months to as long as 2-3 years for the pigmentation to resolve..
So my suggestion is to completely stop smoking and in case if you find it difficult you can go for nicotine replacement therapy in the form of nicotine chewing gums, skin patches etc..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
