Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Productive Cough

i have a cough with lots of mucus since end of November. i was first treated for bacterial flu and given benzonatate then told to stop it as I had the viral kind of the flu and put on steriod meds and told it just had to run its course. Told I had broncial infection. I now feel better but have a bad cough with lots of mucus and is now February Will this med help get rid of the mucus? I went to Urgent care and don t have a primary doctor here in Arizona (winter visitor) 83 old woman

The viral infection may be is transformed to bronchitis.
Talk to your doctor he may give you antibiotics and mucinex to cope with mucus. Maybe even corticosteroids help.
