Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Tachycardia

My daughter is 22 years old and over the last month has had several episodes of tachycardia with pulse rates up to 170 bpm. The cardiologist could not find anything wrong with her but scheduled her for an echo stress test. It seems that no one is taking this seriously but she keeps having repeat episodes of tachycardia without provocation. What could be going on? What advice can you give her?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There can be variety of issues causing tachycardia in your daughter at the age of 22. However, when cardiologist could not find anything during work up, that means the cardiac causes are ruled out hopefully as a concern. Rest of the conditions as below can be considered as possible causes:
- Anxiety and stress
- Low hemoglobin
- Underlying fever or any other systemic inflammation
- Hyperthyroid state
- Others

Would like to discuss further as per your desire and need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
