Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Thick Yellow Vaginal Discharge
I have thick, sour tasting vaginal discharge nearly all the time that is yellow in color only when dry. During sexual intercourse, I feel pressure and discomfort. Sometimes my partner feels a slight burning sensation. The discharge is so thick that the abrasion from intercourse causes it to dry up almost instantly. I ve had this condition for 2+ years. I have gone to several gynecologists who have prescribed me various medications such as Metronidazole, Fluconazole, Clotrimazole, etc. None of these drugs have helped clear up the issue. I have also had a Pap smear which only shows HPV, and a sonogram with normal results. Please help.

There are a few possibilities of it isn't the usual BV or yeast. Mycoplama or ureaplasma are bacteria that are not often tested but can sometimes cause symptoms. They can be treated with oral antibiotics. Trichimonas is a possibility if your partner has it. If you get treated with Metronidazole but have intercourse again, you will then get the infection again. Some women have recurrent BV and yeast and require longer treatment courses (sometimes for weeks or months).
