Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Tumor After Removing Pituitary Gland
My niece had a pituitary gland removed about a year ago, She was advised to start getting hormonal treatments which she didn t do due to the cost and she has now found out that the tumor has returned. My question is now the size of the tumor is a litter larger then before being told it s now 2x2x18.3cm the one before was 1.8cm could this have returned due to not receiving the hormonal treatments as before and is there a possibility that once she has the procedure done and take the treatments that this tumor will not return and she we be alarmed
Incomplete treatment can lead to recurrence of pituitary tumor. I suggest you to consult your neurosurgeon and neurologist for clinical assessment and management which consists of surgery and hormonal therapy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
