Suggest Treatment For Recurring Cough With Phlegm In A Child
Baby has cough whic is epsodic and she has it on sleeping and with that cough she vomit mucous transparent but thanksgod she dont have fever or wheeze in chest we are from asia pakistan dr advised axomaz due to thorat infection and montelukast kindly tell me what can be done to stop mucus production
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain it seems that your baby is suffering from upper respiratory tract infection leading to cough and phlegm formation.. The medications advised to her are appropriate as Azomax contains Azithromycin that is an antibiotic while Montelukast is an anti allergic.. You should continue taking the same and along with it you can give her cough syrup for reducing cough.. Give her plenty of warm water ad warm fluids to drink.. Give her a soft diet.. Avoid chilled and spicy foods.. Ample of rest will help in speedy recovery.. Steam inhalations and using a humidifier in her room will help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
