General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The most common causes are:
- If the cyst is near the external opening then the possibility is of a sebaceous cyst and simple Surgery will cure your problem
- If it is deep within then the causes can range from mastoiditis causing granuloma to anything like polyp

Hence it is mandatory to get CT scan of the mastoids with ear canal to know the status of mastoids, to see any connectivity. Cyst needs surgery hence get a plan from an ENT Surgeon and get a date to get operated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
