Suggest Treatment For Recurring Depression Episodes Despite Having Duzela
Hello doctor , my mother is suffering from depression problem . Doctor has prescribed her to take duzela30mg,citadip20 mg this is right for her . She suffered from this problem 6months back then she reduced her dose when she was fine without consulting a doctor . Now also doctor has prescribed her these two medicine but she is only taking citadip 20 mg . I am very confused for my mother that after becoming fine this problem has raised again . Doctor please advice me something
Duzela and citadip are both anti depressants. They cannot be used together, she can be one or the other anti depressant but not both of them, it increases the risks of side effects.
If she is only on the citadip, she can continue to use it as prescribed. If the depression does not improve then the treatment can be altered.
In terms of the recurrence of her depression, this is not uncommon. In some persons it is a persistent illness requiring long term treatment.
I hope this helps
