Suggest Treatment For Recurring Painful Boils In A 7 Year Old Boy

my 7yr old grandson has chronic very large painful boils and has had many courses of antibiotics and nasal cream but they keep coming back. My daughter constantly washes sheets, towels etc in hot water the house is very clean he has an antiseptic wash and the doctor has now referred him to a dermatologist. We have read everything we can find on this condition and feel he may need an immune test done he also has allergies and seems to pick up many colds etc which linger. Can a dermatologist request these blood tests?

hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.

recurrent painful boils is known as recurrent furunculosis. it's usually due to nasal/umblical/anal carriage of pathogenic bacteria. I suggest you apply fusidic acid cream twice daily in external nares, umbilicus, ears and anus. apply the cream for 6 weeks.

also you can get his blood sugar tested.

regarding allergy testing....yes a dermatologist can advise a allergy test.

hope I have solved all your queries. for any further questions please get back to us. thanks.
