Suggest Treatment For Red And Sore Skin Near The Anus
Just to the sides of my anus on the skin of both buttocks the skin is very sore and tender to touch and red. It s had to swipe backwards as you re supposed to do because even touching the skin is so painful. I ve used 1% hydrocortisone, then plain vaseline and just now tried some lanacaine (very old old). I take miralax qod and recently qd as my stools are very hard. But what should I do about the painful skin?
Red and sore skin at your anus can be due to heat rash, unhygienic condition or jock Itch.
If you are sexually active you should get physically checked & get STD tests done. You may need antibiotics & antivirals.
Apply hydrocortisone cream locally after washing and drying the affected area. Take a course of antifungals(Fluconazole). Take oral antihistamines, Rabeprazole for faster recovery.
Take plenty of water & high fiber diet, take raw & ripe papayas. Avoid red meat for it triggers constipation. Take laxatives at bed time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
