Suggest Treatment For Red Area On Insect Bite

I was bitten by something one week ago today it was red with a darker red center to it for several days and was not healing. three days ago i put rubbing alcohol and peroxide on it several times before putting neosporian on it, then covered it with a gauze pad and with medical tape. today I took the covering off and the red circle has not yet gone away and it has not changed at all. what should I do and what is it from?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be insect bite dermatitis caused by toxin injected by an insect. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would like to suggest you take a short course of antibiotic. Oral steroid in tapering dose and application of antibiotic cream.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
