Suggest Treatment For Red Bump On Tongue After Biting It

I bit my tongue's inferior area (the part where you can see veins) and it hurts whenever I speak or eat. It has a pale bump and is red around it. My throat hurts and I suspect it is because of my tongue. I've read that garlic helps as well as peroxide hydrogen, or are antibiotics a must?

Hello!Read your query.

This is a traumatic ulcer you have caused due to biting.Don't worry, they often heal fast.
Yes, hydrogen peroxide helps ,but it must be diluted.I suggest you to go for a mild mouth wash or warm salt water gargle thrice daily.

Use a analgesic, soothing gel like gumtone. They also have topical metronidazole which will reduce chances of secondary infection.

If there is any sharp tooth and you keep biting often, make sure you visit a dentist for getting it rounded.
You can take a antibiotic course of azithromycin if the throat infection is severe..

Regards.
