Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps On The Skin And Acne

Hi, I have hidradenitis suppurativa and so I occasionally have itchy or painful red bumps on my skin that can resemble acne or be as big as welts and open wounds. So recently I discovered bed bugs in my home, not an infestation but just a few. Pest control has done 1 treatment and I have encased my mattress and box spring. It has been 3 weeks since I ve seen a live bed bug but have found no dead ones from the poison. So my question is how can I tell the difference between bed bug bites and the marks from the skin condition? I need to be able to determine if I m still being bitten. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to bed bugs.

I suggest using Calamine lotion for local application.

I also suggest using Loratadine to prevent the itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
